ANNA LOGUE RECORDS in 2010 and 2011:

2010 was another successful year for Anna Logue Records, but also a very very busy one, so that we could not even manage to send out a newsletter when ANNA 032 was released early September …, sorry for that! Anyway, we had planned to offer three more releases in 2010, but time was against us, so those news can only give you a short preview of what is to come early 2011:

ANNA 028/MNQ 010 CHROMAGAIN Any Colour We Liked (1982-1985) LP+7”/CD

The first one is the highly anticipated release in co-operation with the wonderful Mannequin label from Rome, Italy. Top-notch Minimal Electro Wave from CHROMAGAIN, hailing from Torino, Italy. Includes their ultra rare and sought-after MLP “Any Colour You Like” from 1985, the song “Ethnicbox” from the “Tracce” LP compilation plus four additional unreleased earlier tracks on the LP+7” vinyl version, and a total of nine additional tracks on the CD version!!! And all those tracks are nothing but amazing, with a more raw edge (wonderful Roland TR-808 drum machine action!) and also showing their (post-)electro-punk roots on their earliest tracks! Surely a true classic and not be missed!

ANNA 029/MNQ011 INTELLIGENCE DEPT. Sleeping City (1984/85) CD

The second release is another co-operation with the Mannequin label from Rome, Italy. Again, top-notch Minimal Electro Wave from INTELLIGENCE DEPT., hailing from Ferrara, Italy. Includes both their complete and impossible-to-get demo cassettes “Sleeping City” (1984) and “The Big Trouble” (1985), thus also including their well-known beautiful tracks “Sleeping City”, “Anger Inside”, “Too Late To Love” which were also featured on the 1984 LP compilation “A White Chance”, and “Loneliness” from Mannequin’s “Danza Meccanica – Italian Synth Wave 1982-1987” LP/CD compilation, as well as a cover version of “Sister Europe”, originally by The Psychedelic Furs. Additionally, the CD includes four live tracks, “Sleeping City” and “Too Late To Love”, as well as the two previously totally unknown tracks “Nice Faces” and “Black Widow”, recorded live at the Arena Nuovo in Ferrara in 1985, so a total of 13 amazing tracks, beautifully presented in a six-panel digipak.

ANNA 030 PAUL CHAMBERS Stations/Absorptions (1978-1983) LP+CD set

The third release will be a comprehensive LP+CD set by PAUL CHAMBERS hailing from the UK and being known for his contribution of the two stunning tracks “Steering Solo” and “Take A Ticket” to the “The Apprentices Dance” LP compilation from 1981. PAUL CHAMBERS was quite a pioneer of dark minimal electronic music, starting to record already in 1978! He used a Boss DR-55, Roland SH-1, Korg MS-20 and EDP Wasp, just to name a few and nothing but pure analogue synthesizer bliss! The LP “Stations” comprises 12 tracks including the majority of his rare vocal tracks (thus also including “Steering Solo” and “Take A Ticket”), recorded between 1979 and 1983, which mark milestones of the Minimal Electro Wave genre. The CD “Absorptions” comprises instrumental tracks recorded between 1978 and 1981, which can easily be lined up with the recordings by Chris Carter/Throbbing Gristle from around that time! Finding Paul and unleashing his archives was truly a revelation, so that a total of 27 raw minimal electronic wave tracks from the very early days are now finally seeing the light of day after 30 years time!

--- TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN (and shouldn’t it be every human being?!) ---

Some of you may already know that my partner and I have been getting involved with the protection of animals since many years and that all the (little) money that has been, is and will be earned from my work with Anna Logue Records is used for paying veterinary bills and dog food. I would like to take the opportunity to underline the strong bond between Anna Logue Records and the Hundegnadenhof Zemitz e.V. (Pet Sanctuary for Senior Dogs) which was officially founded in July 2009. There we take care of a total of 15 dogs (which are either stray dogs, old, unwanted or disabled) and four small rabbits at present time. Please take a look and read at:

--- OUTLOOK ---

As always, we are already working energetically on many more releases, amongst them new releases by contemporary acts DELAYSCAPE, EPIC DREAMS, SLEEP MUSEUM and THE SILICON SCIENTIST, and, of course, a lot of amazing original stuff from the early 80’s. As a small hint, after such difficult findings like Poeme Electronique and especially Transparent Illusion, the Anna Logue Records team did crack not only one of the last very-hard-to-crack nuts! In other words, 2011 will be so amazing!

Last but not least, and as always, I wouldn’t want to let the year pass by without expressing my sincere gratitude to everyone who has supported Anna Logue Records in 2010! There is a load of loyal customers (you know who you are) and always some new fellas joining Anna’s world. Many people have tried hard to track down the mysterious Roy Young, but nobody managed to succeed - until one day in 2009. It wasn't an overnight success. Jochen Lange persevered for more than two years. Anna Logue Records bands CARMODY and DESIGN have just been included on the limited Post-Punk/Minimal/Wave compilation “Wave Klassix Volume 4”, released by Brazilian label Wave Records. CARMODY contribute “Most of You”, while DESIGN is featured with their classic “Premonition”. It also includes AND ALSO THE TREES, CABINE C, MARGEM SUL , ENSEMBLE PITTORESQUE, MALARIA!, STAHLNETZ, THE ACTOR, BUZZ, DIE FORM, HELENA MÜLLER, ANNE CLARK, and HANDFUL OF SNOWDROPS. Soon to enter the shop as well.

Also, THE SILICON SCIENTIST has contributed an amazing Italo remix of the THE SWEEPS track “Facing The Night” to the “Synth Planet” 2x12” compilation on Radio Cosmos – available in the shop. Earlier, THE SILICON SCIENTIST was featured on the compilations “Other Voices” (Intuition/Other Voices) with a remix of “Submarines”, and on “Darkness before Dawn Volume 1” with a remix of “Solitary Dancer”. The latter compilation also includes SONNENBRANDT with “Rotes Telefon”. Last but not least THE SILICON SCIENTIST and mixed and re-recorded one synth line of the track “Hundeleben” by TREUE SEELEN, which was released on the 2x7” charity compilation “Hundehertz” on Hertzschrittmacher – available in shop.

a mistake was made by Anna when using three versions of tracks that were originally not to be intended for inclusion to the LP. Incredible but true: ANNA 019 has also been finished and will be released together with ANNA 016, 017 and 018. It is the debut album "Gestern" by SONNENBRANDT, released as a co-production between the three labels Anna Logue Records, Hertzschrittmacher (KernKrach) and NLW. "Gestern" will come as both LP and CD, the first being a limited luxury pressing, the latter including four bonus tracks. Release date for all new Anna Logue Record`s releases is scheduled for September, 13th, 2008.

ANNA 016, 017 and 018 are at the pressing plant and so is a 7" by THE PHONE which is released on Steve Lippert's newly founded vinyl label ATTRACTIVE! in the UK. Steve is Anna Logue Records' permanent graphic designer and close friends, thereforre his first project has been co-produced and manufactured by Anna Logue Records. The curse goes on: the inserts for ANNA009 have been destroyed by DHL. My printer just told me today that he had sent the inserts on Friday, 18th, via DHL to the address delivered by me. The parcel was returned to him today saying “undeliverable” though the address is correct and has been used several times before. Also the returned parcel is that damaged that ALL inserts are unusable… I am missing the words to describe all of this mess … so: the new print run cannot be done before Thursday, 1st. It is hoped the inserts will arrive ‘till week end so they can be processed. I won’t apologize no more, all of this is unbelievable …

Some good news as well: ANNA 012 and ANNA 013 have been well received by the pressing plant … let’s see what catastrophes are next … I am prepared for anything …

The last months were pretty hard for everybody involved, but Anna doesn’t give up that easily! So, ANNA 006 and 007 are in production (again) and they are hoped to be released in around three weeks. As expected Anna had to face further difficulties with the pressings of ANNA 006 (CAMERA OBSCURA) and 007 (CULTURAL AMNESIA). The pressing of 007 had to be sent back to the pressing plant due to non-satisfying quality. The problems were said to be solved as soon as possible, so please stay tuned for further announcements. Anna says sorry for the delays and thanks you for your patience.

ANNA 008 (DESIGN) anyway is ready to be shipped by now, but official release date is to be scheduled with ANNA 006 and 007.

The recently discovered 7" Anna has told you about in the last news has finally arrived and is ready for sale in the shop now. It is the incredibly great "Stay with me/End of Story" 7" by AUPHEUS, released in 1986 in very small quantity. Anna was able to buy the remaining copies, but not many were left, so be fast on that one!

All in all Anna has a release date for all these three releases in mind scheduled to be April, 1st; but after all Anna had already to experience in this business she doesn’t give any warranty…

Also ANNA LOGUE RECORDS has added one new item to its "Other Releases".
It is: RONIN Kuru 7”EP (Hertzschrittmacher)

Then, after already finding the rare original LEGION, NILS and THE HIGHER PRIMATES records for you, Anna has tracked down another incredibly rare 7” record from the 80’s in very limited quantity. Stay tuned for the unveiling of this little sensation!

Hi everybody, due to moving to the Baltic Sea, the ANNA LOGUE RECORDS label and shop will be closed down from Saturday, January, 20th, 2007 until late February !!! . The new CAMERA OBSCURA release (ANNA 006.2006) which is already mentioned and depicted on this web site had to be postponed to a later date and will probably be released together with ANNA 007.2006 which will be an album by the UK experimental electronics group CULTURAL AMNESIA.

Anyway, we are very happy to tell you that ANNA 004.2006 and ANNA 005.2006 are now ready to ship.

As you may have noticed the two new releases on ANNA LOGUE RECORDS are delayed, Anna's apologies. They are expected to be available soon.

Please note that a change in the THE SILICON SCIENTIST release has occured: Instead of the "Bookmarks" CD-R, there will be a 2-track 33 1/3 rpm 7" called "Colourblind" with two completely new tracks ("Oceans of Green"/"Lost City"). It will be added to all 400 copies of the vinyl-LP "Windows on the World". The "Bookmarks" CD-R material may be released in this or another form at a later date.
